"Scarlett" was destroyed less than a week after this photo was taken. It was battling a fire in San Diego when it flipped over on the water while scooping for a fire. Both the pilot and owner survived, but had serious injuries. She flew for 2 years in southern California and successfully scooped 1,500 loads of water/retardent each year. Her military serial was 44-34049, an OA-10a. She is now at the Pima Air Museum awaiting restoration.
